My names Daniel Reed, a local ceramacist and photographer I
am 27. I have lived in wivenhoe for 25 years, in 2010. I completed my Masters Degree in Sculptural Practice at the Minories and in 2007 in completed my BA in Three Dimensional design and Craft at the Colchester Institute. I currently work in Colchester in a Photography shop and take pictures and make ceramics in my spare time. I respond to the way natural light flows over my sculptural forms. I am exploring how the lines and plains of the work react to the natural light, the highlights catching the light as the angle of the piece changesand then the accompanying shadow framing the objects. I have always been inspired by the artists Georgio Morandi and how he finds beauty in everyday objects, creating an 'aura' about them and making you think again about your own surrounds. |
