Peter Kay has been writing and publishing transport and local history titles since the 1980s. He has lived in Wivenhoe since 2002 and has now produced three Wivenhoe local history titles.

WIVENHOE A HUNDRED YEARS AGO (price £2.20)

A reprint of the Ordnance Survey 1896 25in to the mile plan of Wivenhoe, with a explanatory text focused on the development of Wivenhoe in the 1840s-1890s period.

WIVENHOE PUBS (price £3.50) 

A fully illustrated account of all the pubs that have ever existed in Wivenhoe since the 1760s, plus notes on the background history of the English pub, and on the breweries that supplied Wivenhoe. 

WIVENHOE AND THE EARTHQUAKE (price £3.50) 

Describes the effects of the 1884 earthquake on Wivenhoe, Britain's most earthquake-damaged town! With many illustrations of buildings both familiar and long gone.
