Sat 20th May and Sunday 21st May 2006 - Angie's Variety Show at the West Cliff Theatre - Clacton

Nearly 1,000 people will have been mightily impressed as well as thoroughly entertained by Angie and her friends at this her second variety Show, staged at the West Cliff Theatre in Clacton.

Angie has been steadily building up loyal groups of people who come from miles around to see her perform on stage. Coaches came from places like Hornchurch.

For those of us who have seen her perform on stage for several years now, it is hard to believe she is still only 18 years old. She has undoubtedly been talented for a long time and clearly enjoys entertaining people by singing and playing her organ and electric piano. She is an accomplished dancer too and even demonstrated some skill with a cello on this occasion.

Her voice has grown stronger now, and her rendition of Nessun Dorma was powerful.

Once again she was accompanied on stage by her brother, Shane, her boyfriend, Tom, as well as several friends from Colchester Stagecoach, in a variety of singing numbers and dance routines. Tom and Shane were also in the band with two talented guitarists.

Star guest was Colchester's magician, Michael J. Fitch who delivered very clever illusions with an amusing banter that had everyone laughing as well as saying to themselves 'how did he do that?'

This wonderful show was exceedingly well compered by Steve Scruton and Ian Wyatt, from BBC Radio Essex, who both know Angie from things she has done with them involving Children in Need.

So, congratulations Angie on this production in which you were the star performer, the maker of half the costumes (well done Nan, Mary and Gwen, for the other half), the choreographer, written all the stage, lighting and curtain instructions and been Show Producer and Director. Wow! And well done to everyone else who performed or helped in some way. The end result was a Show to be proud of. Thoroughly professional and totally enjoyable.
