| Angie is making a name for herself
- November 2005
Angie Diggens, having finished college in the
summer where she gained her National Diploma in Music with Triple
Distinction plus 3 A levels, is busy pursuing her career in music.
At Colchester's Oyster Feast recently, she was
invited to sing 'Think of Me' a favourite from Lloyd Webber's Phantom of
the Opera in front of the Mayor of Colchester in the Moot Hall packed with
people including many dignitaries and celebrities.
Also
in October, she was invited to The Dorchester Hotel in London for a
fund-raising event in aid of the Helen Rollason Cancer Appeal. There she
sang three songs, wearing her 'Sarah Brightman' dress that she got from
being a finalist in 'Stars in Their Eyes' in March this year.
Colchester
magician Michael Fitch was also there and who managed to impress Angie
with the quality of his magic tricks and illusions. She has accepted an
invitation to perform at his Show at the Mercury Theatre in January (20th
/ 21st January).
Sadly
for people in Wivenhoe, Angie, having organised 10 concerts now in the
William Loveless Hall, will not be performing again here this year although she
intends to be at the Over-60s Club on the 9th December (lucky
people!).
Her Variety Show at the West Cliff Theatre in Clacton in the summer was a
sell out and ended with a standing ovation. Next year she
is going to have 2 performances there: Saturday evening 20th May at 7.30pm
and a matinee on Sunday 21st May at 3pm. And Michael Fitch will be a guest
of hers at the West Cliff Theatre.
For
the last few years she has travelled a lot in the south east of England,
playing at many Organ Music Society events particularly. Having now
finished college, she is able to travel more. In November, she is flying
to the Channel Islands to play for the Jersey Organ Society, and to
perform also in Guernsey.
Apart from Michael Fitch's
January Show at the Mercury Theatre in January, and various other shows
and event around the country, she is appearing in the
musical My Fair Lady at the Mercury (Jan 25th - Feb 4th).
