final of Stars in Their Eyes
Angie Diggens, performing as Sarah Brightman, won her heat of
Stars in Their Eyes on Saturday, 26th February to go into the final
on Saturday, 26th March, 2005.
A crowd of well-wishers and family were at the University of
Essex to watch the ITV television show projected onto a big
screen. A big cheer went up from everybody at the end when the
result was known. Congratulations Angie. Very well done. A
great performance. You deserved to win. You have worked hard.
Wivenhoe is proud of your achievement. Good luck in the final.
40,000 people applied for places and at 17, Angie is one of the
show's youngest performers. Indeed when she applied to appear, she
was too young!
Congratulations too to all Angie's family. They have all worked
extremely hard and been very supportive to help bring out Angie's
many musical talents. Well done all of you because without you all,
we wouldn't have a 'star' in our midst.
