Tue 22 Exploring Philosophy with Dr Alan Collettt: The Art Question. At the Wivenhoe Sailing Club, Walter Radcliffe Way, Wivenhoe from 22nd April 2008 until 27th May 2008. The cost of the course is £40. For more info, click here from 10 am to 12.30 pm

Sat 3 Angie Diggens' Vocal Workshop at the Methodist Church in Wivenhoe. For more information, call Wivenhoe 823042.   2-3pm
Sat 10 The Holocaust Concert at St Mary's Church. Violinist Kelly Jones is to hold an evening of music following the violinist's research into the musicians who were forced to play whilst being held prisoners in the Nazi concentration camps of World War Two. The programme is to include Bach’s famous ‘Double Violin Concerto’, Bloch’s ‘Nigun’ (No.II from Baal Shem), Arvo Part’s ‘Spiegel im Spiegal’ and the ever popular Mozart’s ‘Quartet in C’ (‘Dissonance’), which will be performed by the talented Scintillo String Quartet. Tickets are priced at £6 and £4. Available from the Wivenhoe Bookshop. Alternatively, tickets may be purchased on the evening although it is recommended that you buy tickets in advance. Sat / Sun 21/22 Wivenhoe Open Gardens weekend. Organised jointly by St Mary's Church and the Wivenhoe Society. Approximately 33 gardens will be open during the afternoon of both days (more than ever before!). Added attraction this year will be the Communty Bus operating up and down the town.
