Details of the Wivenhoe War Memorial Fund - 2005

NOTE: THE FUND IS NOW CLOSED AS THE MONEY HAS BEEN RAISED

The objective of the Fund is to meet the cost of cleaning the War Memorial and replacing the cement render at the base of the War Memorial with granite to improve its overall appearance. This cost is expected to be around £3,250.

The Fund is being managed by Wivenhoe Town Council in co-operation with the Wivenhoe branch of the Royal British Legion.

Donations can be sent to Cllr Peter Hill / Patrick Baxter, Wivenhoe Town Council, Council Offices, High Street, Wivenhoe CO7 9AB or at the British Legion Hall, The Quay, Wivenhoe or Toad Hall, 16 Colchester Road, Wivenhoe CO7 9EU.  Please make cheques payable to Wivenhoe Town Council and mark on back War Memorial Fund.

If more money is raised than required for the War Memorial, the balance will go Halsey House, a 72 bed nursing, residential and day care centre run by the British Legion at Cromer. This means the appeal will respect the memory of the fallen and potentially help the living.

Thank you in anticipation for your help and support.

Cllr Peter Hill            Patrick Baxter
