Mayor’s Charity Fund - 2005

Already over £4,000 has been raised for the Mayor’s Charity Fund; a fantastic effort by a lot of people. The money will be distributed in the middle of May.

I have already said some money will go to the Engine Shed Project and Broad Lane Sports Ground, major projects where demonstration of public support is vital to help grant seeking efforts.

I would like those youngsters in Wivenhoe who want a few skateboard ramps to practice tricks and turns on BMX bikes or skateboards to do so other than in the streets, the railway station car park or Cook’s Shipyard. Some money therefore will go to the Town Council to help our grant seeking efforts for a modest play facility and in a location where residents won’t be disturbed.

Other ideas on which to spend the money? Please let Mayoress Bonnie or I know if you have any local projects in need of support we can consider. Please write to us at Toad Hall, Colchester Road, Wivenhoe CO7 9EU or send us an e-mail:
