Teddy Bears Picnic - Sunday, 20th July, 2003

A crowd of over 100 people enjoyed this year's Teddy Bear's Picnic on King George V Playing Field in really warm and sunny weather.

Organised by the Mayor, Cllr Gilli Primrose with husband Keith, Town Clerk Toni Stinson and husband Albie, Assistant Town Clerk, Susannah Bradley and helpers Carol and Brian Green, Cllr Richard Davies, Cllr Sally Glozier Green, former Town Mayor David Craze, Lynn Pendle, Pat Smith, and Christian Hill, everybody looked as though they really enjoyed themselves staying until 5pm.

Mayor Bear and Susannah Bradley were kept busy throughout the afternoon face painting.  Lauren Sawyer, who joined in the fun from Brightlingsea, was one of those turned into a cat by Susannah.

JoJingles, who run a group in the Wm Loveless Hall on Mondays for young children, keLauren Sawyerpt everyone entertained with songs and actions a couple times during the afternoon.

A wide variety of games kept others amused, and then there were stories to listen to from Story Bear (David Craze), and a Teddy Bear's walk through the Woods.
