20th January, 2003 - Wivenhoe Town Council agreed to Cllr Mary Hignell's proposal to create another standing Working Party to liaise with Colchester Borough Council's Park Ranger team over work in Wivenhoe Woods.

The Working Party will comprise Town Councillors and lay people. It was agreed the Chairman of it should always be a Town Councillor and the Working Party will report directly to the full Town Council.

The Working Party should meet with the Park Ranger team from time to time to review the proposed programme of work and to represent the views and feelings of Wivenhoe residents, for the area covering the Woods and including Lower Lodge Meadow and Ferry Marsh, all now comprising the new Colne Nature Reserve, established by Colchester Borough Council in 2002.

It will be the responsibility also of the Working Party to communicate work being undertaken by the Park Ranger team to Wivenhoe residents, to encourage Wivenhoe residents to help in conservation work whenever possible and to periodically review the strategic Management Plans determined by the Park Ranger team.
