After more than two years work the results of the Town Plan survey are now available and can be accessed via a link on this page.

The Wivenhoe Town Plan Group was set up to provide a summary of residents' view on a range of local issues and incorporate these into the Local Development Framework (LDF).  The LDF is the planning process set up by the government to replace the Local Plan and is much more wide ranging in that it not only focuses on housing and construction planning but includes all the various services that impact on local quality of life: transport, health, crime, education etc.

The Town Plan Group has been run by volunteers with funding from a number of sources, including the lottery.  Wivenhoe Town Council involvement has been limited to help with seed funding and free accommodation for meetings.

Two copies of the questionnaire were delivered to each home and 25% of these were completed and returned.  This very high proportion means that the survey results do really represent local opinion on the various issues.

The Plan was launched in the William Loveless Hall at a public meeting on Saturday 25th October 2008.

Hard copies of the Plan will be sent to all the various service providers. A pdf copy (2.3mb) is available from this site - click here

The Plan includes an Action Plan to follow up on the various issues that have been identified.   This means that the work of the Group continues, so if you would like to help with the Action Plan please do come to the launch.  You can also get involved by contacting the Town Plan secretary Eugene Kraft on 01206 826633 or e-mail:
