April 2007 - Update from the Wivenhoe Town Plan Committee

The Wivenhoe Town Plan committee is delighted with the response to the questionnaire in which residents were asked to indicate their views on a range of issue relating to the amenities and quality of life in the town.

6,500 questionnaires were distributed to 3,250 dwellings and 1,624 were returned, considerably more than had been expected.

The questionnaire is part of the process in the preparation of a Town Plan that will feed into the Local Development Framework (LDF) which has replaced the Local Plan.

The LDF is the new flexible process that the government has set up that will in due course determine the policy for planning, land use and infrastructure for the next 20 years.

Prizes were offered for competed questionnaires. First prize of £100 was won by Carol Mitchell, with additional prizes going to Joanne Haug and Simon Wilkinson.

The results will now be analysed and will in due course be incorporated into the published Plan.
