February 2006 - A Wivenhoe Town Plan Group formed

A public meeting was held on Saturday 18th February 2006 in the William Loveless Hall which was attended by around 90 residents.

One key purpose of the meeting was to set up the Wivenhoe Town Plan Group and elect three officers. The three volunteers who were duly elected by those present were:

    Chairman  - Dave Purdey
    Secretary - Eugene Kraft
    Treasurer  - Chris Dale

The remaining 9 members of the committee will be elected at a special meeting to which all those who put forward their names as willing to assist will be invited.

The results of the workshop will be collated and be made available in the Council offices, the Library and on the web site (click here for results). These results will be used, together with comments obtained from various hard to reach groups (elderly, children, special interest groups etc) to prepare a questionnaire that will be sent to every household in Wivenhoe.

During 2006, consultations will also be taking place with the service providers and planners to ensure that the Town Plan is realistically based. The aim is to have a Plan document completed by the end of 2007.
