January 2008 - Youth Bus

On a rainy Saturday in January the Youth Bus came to Wivenhoe and its bright and cheerful logo brightened an otherwise grey day. Despite the rain many people came to have a look round and the bus was full of warmth and chatter.

The Youth Bus has seating areas, DVD players and computers. Hot and cold drinks will be available. For the warmer weather it also has an awning for extra seating outside.

The bus will go to different areas outside Colchester that do not have premises for a youth club and it is hoped that it will become a regular visitor to Wivenhoe providing a place for young people to meet.

A driver to get the bus to us is provided but what we will need is volunteers to manage the bus. We do already have a few but really need more, so if anyone is interested in volunteering please get in touch with the Wivenhoe Town Council.

As you can see from the pictures, the young people of Wivenhoe are very enthusiastic about this project and the Bus will provide a much needed place for them.
