January 2008 - New Arrangements
for Wivenhoe's Public Car Park
In association with Wivenhoe Town Council, it has been
agreed that changes will be introduced to make the Wivenhoe car park 3
hours maximum stay on Mondays to Saturdays (except bank holidays) between
8am and 6pm. These changes will come into force on Monday 11th February
2008.
Previously parking was unlimited and this was leading to
all day parking which in turn was keeping out local people wishing to park
to go to the shops, etc.
The Legal Notices will be displayed on site and have
been posted in the Evening Gazette on Friday 18th January, 2008.
Responsibility for enforcement will rest with Colchester
Borough Council's called Parking Attendants.
Special season ticket permits will be issued for
business parking after changes at Wivenhoe car park come into effect.
These permits will be administered by an arrangement with Wivenhoe Town
Council, and will be available only to registered businesses in the Wivenhoe
town centre to give exemption from the maximum stay. A maximum of 15 tickets to be issued
concurrently at the preferential rate of
£25 for 13 weeks. Application should be made at the Wivenhoe Town Council
offices, 77 High Street, Wivenhoe CO7 9AB.
