March 2006 - A Farmers' Market to begin in Wivenhoe in April

Wivenhoe will have a Farmers' Market here in Wivenhoe every month, starting in April, thanks to the efforts of Town Mayor, Cllr Tom Roberts.

The Market will take place every third Saturday in the month, from 9am to 1pm, starting in April 2006.

Only local producers are allowed to take part. Customers can be sure the produce could be fresher only if they grew it themselves.

The Wivenhoe market will be overseen by En-form, the local charity, which runs the Colchester Farmers' Market.

A small team of volunteers is needed to deal with the monthly chores of putting up and taking down tables, and publicity. Two people could easily do this, but it would be better if there were more, so that no individual need be committed to every single month. If you are wiling to get involved in this way, please contact Cllr Tom Roberts on tel 01206 826226.
