| October 2006 - Town Council's
Annual Civic Service
Town Mayor, Cllr Penny Kraft and Mayor's Escort, Cllr Eugene Kraft,
enjoyed a successful Civic Service and were able to welcome many dignitaries
from neighbouring areas including Mayor and Mayoress of Colchester, Cllr
Richard and Jackie Gower.
After a fine service in St Mary's Church led by Rector David Thomas at
which the choir were in full voice, led by Director of Music, Graham
Wadley, a Reception was held in the Wm Loveless Hall for
everybody.
Cllr Penny Kraft thanked everybody for attending, especially the
guests. MP Bernard Jenkin responded with a vote of thanks. A buffet
prepared by Council staff was soon demolished and several pictures were
sold with a commission going to the Mayor's Charity Fund.
