Details of Election Results held on 1st May, 2003:

Regrettably an election for places on Wivenhoe Town Council will not be required as there are only 10 candidates for 11 seats. The people who have put themselves forward to serve again are Gilli Primrose, Jan Richardson, Cyril Liddy, Richard Davies, Chris Thompson and Peter Hill. Stepping down are Mary Hignell, Mike Jarvis, David Craze, Steve Ford and Penna Gaster. Joining the new Council in May will be Dave Purdy, Penny Kraft, Ken Rogers and Tom Roberts. This means the new Council will initially comprise only 10 Councillors instead of a full 11 members.

For the two Colchester Borough Council wards, Wivenhoe Cross and Wivenhoe Quay, the candidates are as follows:

Wivenhoe Cross (Note: two seats to be elected, as Philip Hawkins has stepped down after re-locating to Scotland):

Candidates:  Paul Bishop (Lab); Aulay Mackenzie (Lab); David Adams (Cons) - sitting Councillor seeking re-election; Eugene Kraft (Cons); Barry James (Lib Dem);

Wivenhoe Quay
