Wivenhoe Weekend:
11th and 12th September 2004

A celebration of all the diverse activities and entertainments that make up Wivenhoe life

This biennial event is co-ordinated by the Wivenhoe Society, but, as always, a great many other organisations and groups were involved.  The next one – in 2006 – will be in the Society’s 40th anniversary year, so let’s make it an extra special weekend.

The Wivenhoe Society itself held an event in the Congregational Church garden and hall which included a bouncy castle and stalls in the garden, while refreshments were served in the hall.  The Grand Draw was drawn in the Horse and Groom on the Sunday evening.

Other events included:

Poetry and Photographic Competition for people 6 - 16 years in two age categories and two competitions. Sponsored by Queen’s Jubilee Youth Trust for Wivenhoe.

Wivenhoe Watercolour Challenge - Click here for photos and results.

The Wivenhoe Show - the traditional Annual Show in the William Loveless Hall by Wivenhoe Allotments and Gardens Association.

Wivenhoe Town Council's Annual Civic Service at St Mary's on Sunday, 12th September, when the theme was a celebration of all that is good about Wivenhoe and a Service of Thanksgiving.
