The Wivenhoe Quay Quilters 2003 Exhibition in the William Loveless Hall over the weekend of 18th / 19th October attracted 519 visitors to see the 172 exhibits made by the 60 members of this group which meets in monthly in the Hall.

The Exhibition made £1,730.00 which was divided equally between Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Wivenhoe 'Communty' Bus.

The two competitions for visitors were 'How many pieces of fabric were used to make the Baby Jane quilt?' and 'Guess the name of the Teddy Bear'. The answer for the Baby Jane quilt was 3374 and the nearest guess was 3379 made by a visitor from Milton Keynes. The Teddy Bear's name was Beau Jingles and his name was guessed correctly by a visitor from Colchester. The three raffle quilts were won by visitors from Clacton-on-Sea, Great Bentley and Wivenhoe.

A huge amount of effort went into putting on this wonderful show by a great many people led by Jane Brooks, see bottom left picture.
