Friday September 19 - Christine Webb and Joan Taylor

Published by Peterloo Poets, ‘After Babel’ (2004), Christine won the annual Poetry London Competition in 2007 and was runner up in the influential Mslexia magazine Poetry Competition. Her poetry is reflective and quietly witty.

Joan, originally from New Zealand where her poems were published in a variety of magazines and journals, notably the Tirangi Poets series, also writes novels and non-fiction works. She is now very active on the local poetry scene and has a poem in the current issue of Wivenhoe News.

Friday October 17 - Will Holloway and Adrian May

An evening in Will’s company should be full of surprises. Check his website for enlightenment on the importance of cockroaches.

Adrian teaches at Essex University and is well-known as a songwriter, lyricist and performer on the folk-song circuit and in the professional theatre. His influences include Blake, Lawrence, and Stevie Smith.

Friday November 21 — Ros Barber and Annie Brechin

Roe is an award - winning poet published by Anvil. She writes about childhood, lost innocence, family life. ‘Not the Usual Grasses Singing: A Journey Around The Isle Of Sheppey’ was published in 2005.

Annie lives in London and performs regularly at venues such as The Poetry Café, the Poetry Shack, Borders Bookshop and Battersea Arts Centre. Widely published in magazines, she was one of five young poets chosen to take part in John Betjeman’s 100 Birthday celebrations in Cornwall.
