| February 2007 - Poetry takes to
the stage in Wivenhoe
Matt Harvey, performing in March at poetrywivenhoe's
first event, has been entertaining since 1992 and
is now a veteran of the UK’s festival circuit. Since co-writing and co
starring in two series of One Night Stanza in 2001/02 he has become a
regular Radio 4 voice, contributing to programmes such as Off The Page,
Word of Mouth and A Good Read. He is also President of MIND in Exeter and
East Devon and helps organize its regional Off the Wall comedy festival.
Matt’s poems are interspersed with probing questions – 'If love can
build a bridge, can affection put up a shelf?' –and stories of imaginary
friends, mistaken identity, male bonding and the struggle to give up
Buddhism. Kay Harvey ,of the “Way with Words “Literature
Festival, describes his work as “warm, witty, and very funny”.
Matt Harvey performs at the British Legion, The Quay, Wivenhoe on
Friday, March 9th at 8.00pm. Tickets from Wivenhoe Bookshop.
