A ‘one off’ opportunity to hear The Garage Band
playing some romping jazz at the Wivenhoe Jazz Club – The Greyhound – High
Street Wivenhoe
Thursday - 18th December - 8:30-11pm doors open 8pm - entry £5
Originally constituted to play at a promotional party for the launch of a
new car, the ‘Garage Band’ enjoyed themselves so much that they came
together every week at the legendary ‘Royal Mortar’ public house in
Colchester . The last gig there was over 12 years ago and though the various
personnel of the band have enjoyed the odd musical encounter, this will be
the first time in twelve years that the original band will come together for
a night of old time happy jazz.
Line up: Derek Hollows (Drums)
John Bright (Banjo)
Derek Pring (Sousaphone)
Sid Grimwood (cornet)
Pete Jezard (Trombone, Vocals & Suannee whistle)
The original clarinet was (where are you now) Carl Hemmingfield
but for this night it will be Brian Hart who will kindly help us out.
Look forward to seeing you there - come early to get a seat.
