2007 - Award for Wivenhoe News We are
pleased to report that Wivenhoe News was short-listed for
the final round of the Essex Life Community Magazine Awards 2007. There
had been almost 90 entries from all over the county – the largest number
ever for this competition. And
so we joined a prestigious short list of 13 finalists at the Awards
Evening on 3rd October at Le Talbooth restaurant in
After the opening speeches by the Executive Director of the Rural Community Council of Essex and by the other sponsors, came the awards themselves – three Merit Award winners, a "Best Less Than Monthly Magazine", a "Best Monthly or More Magazine" and an overall winner.
Of the six award-winners, Wivenhoe News was delighted to receive a Merit Award. Our near neighbour, the St Osyth News, was declared winner of the "Best Monthly" and the overall winner of the competition was the Theydon Bois Village News. Peter Kennedy
