| Wivenhoe Allotments are owned by Wivenhoe Town
Council and managed in conjunction with the Wivenhoe Allotment and
Gardens Association (WAGA). For enquiries about an allotment, contact the Town Council tel 822864.
Remember, allotments are not just for growing vegetables but flowers too,
for 'show' or cutting in the home.
Wivenhoe Allotment and Gardens Association is a thriving society. All
gardeners are welcome to join (for an extremely modest cost) and you don't need to have an allotment to do so, indeed many do not.
WAGA run a Trading Hut on Sunday mornings. Seeds, composts, fertilizers
and many other items are sold at a special and very attractive member's
rate.
The Annual Show, started in 1965, is the opportunity to compete for
cups and trophies in many different categories - fruit, flowers and
vegetables, flower arrangements, cooking, preserves and handicrafts in
general. The Show is held in the Wm Loveless Hall in
September.
For details about the Show or how to join WAGA, contact Mrs Diane
