| January, 2006 - Organ Tour Rides Again
Stuart Wilks, former organ scholar at Wivenhoe, is once again organising a charity
organ tour. The motorbike tour of the UK, Ireland and, this year, Holland, is to rev up again for a second year of charity fundraising.
Stuart, now an IT manager and organist, from Woodford Green is set to ride in the depths of winter this February, playing organs in various towns and cities on his route, raising funds for two charities.
Stuart will be setting off from Woodford Green on 25th February, and heading to Wivenhoe where he will give a formal organ recital at St Mary's at 7.30pm - do come along.
An early start the following morning sees him heading to Harwich for the ferry and then riding around Holland for two days, then to Scotland, across to Ireland, and back to the UK, returning to London on Monday 6th March.
The charities this year are both dedicated to saving lives in different ways:
the Leukaemia Research Fund and Bullying Online - one dedicated to cancer research and the other to raising awareness and providing support for victims of bullying.

From Stuart Wilks to Graham
Wadley, Director of Music at St Mary's, Wivenhoe:
Dear Graham
Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who supported me on this year's
organ tour. I just thought I'd do a few quick calculations before I go to bed this evening, and have worked out a (rough) final total for the tour of £3,090 (plus a few pence here and there) - a staggering total, and far more than I'd expected now that the novelty has worn off for many people!! There will be slightly more to give to LRF, but Bullying Online will benefit fairly substantially from the event too.
Thanks to all who supported in any way. I'll be doing a little booklet of pictures and words, which I'll put on the website
(www.organtour.org.uk) to download in the next day or two if anyone's interested, and will write to all the venues and people who helped organise the event this year to let them know the outcome in the next few days.
Thanks again.
Best wishes,
Stuart.
