September 2006 - Mary Hignell takes over as Chairman of St Mary's Fund-Raising Committee

After 10 ten years of leading the fund-raising team at St Mary's, raising thousands of pounds each year towards the upkeep of St Mary's Church, Bonnie Hill stepped down in August following her appointment as County Commissioner for Girlguiding within Essex North East with responsibility for nearly 7,000 guides and leaders.

The good news is that Mary Hignell has volunteered to take over. She inherits a good team of experienced volunteers, plus lots of notes and templates in Bonnie's folder!   

Her first event is the Band Concert in St Mary's on Saturday, 30th September. 

The Salvation Army Band have been coming to St Mary's for several years to play at the December Market.

Now the Concert Band are coming to St Mary's to provide a full evening's entertainment.

Tickets (at the door) are £6.00 (Children under 12 free). The ticket includes tea/coffee and cake in the interval.
