May 2004 - ART ON THE RAILINGS, JUNE MARKET & AUCTION

This event, organised by St. Mary’s Parish Church in Wivenhoe will be held on SATURDAY 5th JUNE from 9.30 a.m. until 2.30 p.m. in the Churchyard.

There will be lots on offer again this year and it is hoped that everyone will come along and support this very happy and festive event.  A 50/50 AUCTION will take place at 11.00 a.m. and the general public are invited to bring along any 3 non-electrical items per person on the day to sell.

The Ken Edwards Trio will be playing Jazz between 11.45 and 1.45 p.m. while people take advantage of the wonderful lunches on offer.

An assortment of food will be available for lunch, there will be lots of stalls – Plants, White Elephant, Cakes, Produce, Wivenhoe mugs and tea towels, Books, Tea and Coffee, and more than 30 other stalls in aid of local organisations and charities.  There will also be a variety of craft stalls selling all sorts of  wonderful items.  This year we have are pleased to welcome members of the Colchester Tourist Guides Association who will be performing “Colchester History Alive”.  A chance for visitors to meet characters from Colchester’s history performed by the local tourist guides themselves.  All in all a great event for all the family.

Local artists will fill the railings surrounding the churchyard with work, which will be for sale on the day.
