Wivenhoe December Market
and
Late Night Night Shopping Evening
Thursday 5th December, 2002

Plans for another highly successful December Market and Late Night Shopping Evening are well in hand.

Over 30 stalls have so far been booked at St Mary's Church by many different organisations, including many from outside of Wivenhoe.

Town Mayor Cllr David Craze will be transported down to St Mary's Church just before 6pm on Santa's sleigh, courtesy of Brightlingsea Rotary Club who will be volunteering to take letters to Santa Claus when they depart later in the evening. So kids everywhere, bring your letter for Santa in time for this Christmas (PS You'll need to bring £1 too, to cover transportation costs, as it is a long way to Santa-land. Don't forget to put your name, address and address on so that Santa can reply to you).

The Mayor will switch on the Christmas lights on the Church at 6pm which will be the signal for all the Christmas lights around Wivenhoe to be switched on.

Dave Sleightholm and his team have again been working hard to well and truly light up Wivenhoe again, with help planned from Wivenhoe Town Council staff. We can expect a truly magnificent show.

Many shops will be open and inviting you inside. Some will be offering refreshments too! So please go and look what they have to offer, and not just the drink and nibbles.
