- Picnic in the Park
How the weather can be so cruel but that didn't stop more than 500
people enjoying themselves.
Despite the steady drizzle that persisted throughout the evening, and
occasionally became a little more than that, people still managed to have
a picnic and enjoy the music that started at 6pm and went on until after
11pm when the fireworks went off.
Billed as the major event to start Wivenhoe's Regatta Week, and
supported by several companies, including First Great Eastern, Bovis
Homes, Dream 100, Designed for Sound, The Spirit Group (owners of
Wivenhoe's Rose and Crown PH) and local solicitors, Fisher Jones
Greenwood, the evening was extremely well organised.
On the stage during the evening entertainment was provided by Dream
100, Jubilee Jazz, Lap of the Gods and main artists, tribute band, ABBA
Magic.
Proceeds from the evening will be donated to St Helena Hospice.
