Wivenhoe
Pantomime
Group
The group produces a pantomime in January each year, with auditions
held during the summer and rehearsals starting in the autumn.
People from the age of ten are welcome to audition for the production,
as there are parts for all ages.
We also need backstage crew to supplement our existing helpers.
Each year's production is always a real team effort, with emphasis on having fun and
providing the audience with the best entertainment.

The
2008 production was "Mother Goose" and 2009 was a rest year.
This year's
production is "Ali Baba". It is taking place at the William Loveless
Hall from January 19th to 23rd at 7.30 pm, with a 2.30 pm matinee on
Saturday. The team has been rejuvenated following their year off in 2009
and features a very experienced director, Matthew Linley, who is new to
the Wivenhoe group. The toe-tapping musical numbers will be provided by
Nick White and Greg Smith (last seen in a frock as Mother Goose). Local
children and parents will also be thrilled by the debut of one of
Broomgrove Infants School's finest teacher
(hint: he's known for
his waistcoats!)
as the dame.
Tickets are available from the High Street Post Office and the Premier
Crossways store (formerly the Spar).
