Mercury Youth Theatre Wivenhoe

As part of its community outreach programme, the Mercury Theatre runs a youth theatre based in Wivenhoe which meets each Thursday evening during term time.

No previous acting experience is necessary although commitment and enthusiasm are essential.  The Mercury’s Youth Theatres mount a production on the theatre’s main stage each spring.

There is currently a waiting list.  For further information or to join the waiting list please contact Caroline Shaw at the Mercury Theatre on 01206 245503 or email

Entertaining Strangers

This is the title of this spring’s Mercury Youth Theatre production which runs from Thursday 14th until Saturday 16th April. 2005.

In a Victorian English county town, two families, with very different moral values, confront each other as their beliefs are strained by disagreement, love and loss.  Entertaining Strangers encompasses life, celebration, conflict, and a community’s struggle against plague and death.

Tickets £6/£4 concessions (Family Ticket £15).
