November 2003 - Colne Bank School of Dancing presented St Helena Hospice and The Engine Shed Project with £1,004 each as a result of their Charity Dance Gala held at the University Lakeside Theatre.

The Dance Gala, comprising matinee and evening performances on Saturday, 27th September, had been a sell out according to Jenny Overton, Principal of the Colne Bank School of Dancing and raised a total of £2,008 for these two local causes.

Receiving the cheques were Graham Reardon from St Helena Hospice, and Peter Hill, Peter Cook and Anne Horner from the Engine Shed Project.

About half of the Colne Bank's dance company took part in the colourful and vibrant show. The many bright costumes worn by the 110 performers had all been made by Jenny and her mother Pat Overton in the months before her show.

Helping Jenny to put the dance routines together were Mavis Cooke, Gemma Brown and Clare Waldock.
