Saturday 28th September, 2002 - An utterly fantastic Charity Gala show, staged by the Colne Bank School of Dancing at the University Lakeside Theatre wowed two further audiences. The matinee and evening performances staged under the title of Let's Dance followed the School's earlier and very successful Summer Show held in July.

The £2,256 raised by these two Charity Gala performances are to be divided between St Helena Hospice and the Engine Shed Project.

Audiences saw a series of vibrant dance routines, performed with great precision, poise and timing by around 150 young performers who gave everything to their routines and looked as they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.

The style of each routine was different with tap, ballet and other dance styles; the colours and style of the costumes were wonderful, and the music and lighting made each routine come very much alive.

The performers, of all ages, were certainly a credit to themselves as well as their tutors and choreographers.

Many congratulations to Jenny Overton, Principal of the Colne Bank School of Dancing, her team and her students for achieving so much to delight everybody in the audience as well as raising so much money for two worthwhile causes.

The photographs below, taken by Geoff Osborne, give a representative taste of the 24 routines which made up the Show.
