The Royal British Legion exists “ To safeguard the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces.”    Membership is open to all who wish to support our work. Welfare is available for all serving or ex-service personnel and their dependants.

Branch Meetings:

These are held on the third Tuesday of each month, where meetings alternate between Business & Social. The January meeting is Business & the February meeting is Social & so on.  Meetings start at 7.30 p.m.

NEWS: 

  • Nov 2008: New Legion Campaign " Return to Rationing".   Legion research has discovered that 38% of veterans, their spouses and/or widows(ers) have an income which is inadequate for healthy living. The Legion has joined with Age Concern to urge the Government to rectify the situation. For full details please visit  www.returntorationing.org.uk, alternatively phone Legionline on 0845 725 725 to obtain a campaign pack & to indicate your support.
  • The Covenant Campaign. The campaign has resulted in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) issuing a Command Paper outlining a series of improvements to the support of Her Majesty's Armed Forces. The Legion has welcomed the proposals which has addressed matters raised in our thirty eight page submission.   • "Honour The Covenant". The Legion is campaigning to press the Government to rectify the many areas in which our Armed forces are NOT being properly supported. Full details of these & what    YOU can do to provide support is available on www.thecovenant.org.uk
