Wivenhoe Christmas Presence
A truly individual way to shop this Christmas.
Ten different venues will be opening in Wivenhoe the first weekend in
December to offer a truly individual way to do your Christmas shopping. Each
one will be totally different, and well worth exploring.
Yes, there will be established venues like Wivenhoe Bookshop and
their annual 7” x 9” exhibition, showing all the artists featured in their
Over the Sofa Gallery. In addition there will be Barnacle Workshop
with pottery by Robina Jack and Catherine Dodds. Crockers Joinery
will be celebrating emerging talent of woodworker Kim Crocker and
international prize winning textile Designer Nancy Rose Taplin. The
much admired pottery of Pru Green will be available at 5 Park Road,
along with a glass, felt, jewellery and prints. Children are well catered
for this year with the newly opened Jack in the Box, a traditional
toy shop and the popular Luna with their children’s clothes, toys and
gifts.
Should you be flagging, pop into The Corner House in the High Street
for coffee, but don’t forget to go upstairs to have a look at their
collection of pictures. At Wivenhoe Gallery Andy Bass will be showing
a collection of local artist’s work; on your way, why not slip in to see
Tessa Spenser Pryse’s painting at The Black Gates in Brook
Street. Another totally new venue will be Charlotte Bernays on her
barge on the quay, who knows what you will find there ... Look out for the
map, and find a style that suits you at Wivenhoe Christmas Presence.
Wivenhoe Christmas Presence will be open:-
Saturday 5th December and Sunday 6th December 10am – 6pm
