About Wivenhoe's Neighbourhood Policing team:
   
PC Neil Gibson, Community Police Officer,

Neil joined Essex Police as a Police Officer in 2001.  He worked initially at Colchester Police station where he was a response officer covering the whole of the Colchester area.  He then moved to Ipswich Road Police station where he worked as part of the Community Policing Team covering the north of the town.  In January 2006 the first Neighbourhood Policing Team was implemented in St Andrews and St Annes and Neil was chosen to be part of this team.  At the beginning of March 2007 Neil joined the Wivenhoe NPT.  

Neil works from Wivenhoe Police Station which covers both Wivenhoe Town and the University of Essex.  Along with PC Wendy Byrne, PC Becky Hanlon and PCSO Louise Neville, his role involves dealing with and reducing crime, nuisance and disorder.  Neil is also heavily involved in identifying local issues and tackling them.  One priority of his is to create a safe and confident community.

PC Wendy Byrne , Community Police Officer,

Wendy has been a Police Officer for Essex Police since 2002.  Before joining the Wivenhoe Neighbourhood Policing team she was based at Colchester Police Station where she was on the response team.

She is now part of a dedicated team who work from Wivenhoe Police Station that covers both Wivenhoe town and the University of Essex.  She is involved in creating a safe community and reducing the fear of crime. She deals with reducing crime, nuisance and disorder.  One of her priorities is to identify local issues and tackle them. Wendy works along side PC Neil Gibson, PC Becky Hanlon and PCSO Louise Neville.

PC Becky Hanlon,  Community Police Officer,

Becky joined Essex Police early in 2007.  After completing her training she has joined the Wivenhoe Policing Team as her first placement.  

Becky covers the University of Essex and the town of Wivenhoe and is based at Wivenhoe Police Station.  Along with her colleagues Pc Neil Gibson, PC Wendy Byrne and PCSO Louise Neville she will be reducing the fear of crime and tackling local issues.  She will deal with crime as well as nuisance and disorder.

PCSO Louise Neville,  Police Community Support Officer,

Louise has been Wivenhoe’s Police Community Support Officer since 2005.  Initially she began at Ipswich Road Police Station but when Neighbourhood Policing was implemented she moved to Wivenhoe Police Station.

Louise’s role is to provide a visible and accessible police presence to the community of Wivenhoe town and the University of Essex.  She aims to improve the community’s quality of life and offer greater public reassurance.  Although she works along side PC Neil Gibson, PC Wendy Byrne and PC Becky Hanlon, Louise does not have the same powers as a Police Officer.  She works with partners, community organisations and businesses to address anti-social behaviour and any other factors that will affect the quality of life for the community of Wivenhoe.
