Wivenhoe residents are invited to attend the next meeting of the
Wivenhoe Neighbourhood Action Panel to be held at 6.00pm in the
Congregational Church, High Street, Wivenhoe on Tuesday 8th May.
Neighbourhood Action Panels (NAP) have been set up as a community forum
to air matters of concern to residents and do something about these. They
have been successful in addressing the issues that concern residents and
in establishing action plans to reduce crime and nuisance.
The Wivenhoe NAP has been slow to get started, and the Town Council is
urging local organisations and individuals to attend as a way for the
community to work together to address quality of life issues.
The police attend as well as a senior borough officer so it is a good
opportunity to make known any concerns or issues that you have in mind.
At the next meeting, on Tuesday 8th May, a draft action plan will be
compiled and presented, and input from a wide range of the public will be
beneficial. The plan will have actions linked to:
- Police support for the May Festival that will replace the May Fair
this year.
- Several actions stemming from a youth consultation process.
- and priorities identified by local community leaders
