JUNE MARKET

This group will be having a stand next to our ‘Community Police Officer’

I have suggested ‘leaflets for recruiting Police Specials’ be made available. This has been acknowledged by police as a ‘Good Idea’ Wivenhoe continues to require more visible policing ‘Police Specials (If allocated to Wivenhoe) would assist and be welcomed. Two visiting police specials have been most useful when I requested drug dealers be arrested. (This followed several hours of observation.)

CRIME FIGURES

Requested breakdown of crime figures for Wivenhoe as the University is included. . Breakdown of crime figures assists in proactive work by our committee.

I am disappointed at two vehicles having been stolen – this crime has not been a problem over the past two-three years.

Youths involved in anti-social behaviour on the Quay have been advised.

MEETINGS

A former bodyguard for Prince Charles has agreed to give a talk on his experiences. Details to be announced. (Possibly late September)

Next meetings are on July 3rd, September 18th, the October meeting is cancelled due to this building being used for other purposes. The last meeting of 2003 will be November 27th.

Tiptree Neighbourhood Watch have sent an invitation to their meetings.. I will be attending.

Beverley Gould of Colchester Road Management who has been liasing with this Committee after receiving report re road improvements in Wivenhoe will be attending a Wivenhoe Town Council meeting to discuss these issues later this year.  I am satisfied progress is being made.
