Jane LeeThe Wivenhoe Eyecare & Contact Lens Centre was started by Jane Lee in Brook Street, Wivenhoe, in July 2004.  Since then Jane has expanded the practice moving it to much larger premises at 1 Belle Vue Road (formerly Waites the electrical shop) on 31st August, 2007.  Jane has made Wivenhoe Eyecare a family run concern with her husband Stuart joining her. 

She is also expanding by providing hearing services too from these premises too as the award-winning Hearing Care Centre from Colchester will be running regular clinic sessions at Wivenhoe Eyecare from 15th November 2007 - see panel below.  

Since opening Wivenhoe’s first ever Opticians, Jane has had many compliments about how easy it now is to get your eyes tested, choose new spectacles, and satisfy your contact lens needs without having to go into Colchester - the added bonus being the parking right outside the door.

"The Wivenhoe Eyecare & Contact Lens Centre offers an extensive range of spectacles, including many designer frames at very competitive prices.  We also stock a wide range of frames designed especially for children. Not just content with selling ordinary, or not so ordinary, glasses, we also stock a range of designer sunglasses, and at a discount to the usual selling price.

Stuart has also installed a Digital Imaging system to help patients see themselves in different spectacle designs. Much easier to see yourself in your new spectacles on a computer screen rather than close up in the mirror!

Thanks to their rapidly expanding patient base and the support they provide, they have now installed a Glazing Lab on-site. This will mean a far quicker service as everything will then be done in-house by Jane and Stuart.

The Hearing Care Centre  -  Clinic sessions at the Wivenhoe Eyecare & Contact Lens Centre on alternate Wednesday mornings, starting from Wednesday 21st November 2007.  We offer free hearing tests, a wide range of latest technology digital hearing aids from all the leading manufacturers, a six-week money-back trial period and a first-class aftercare programme, amongst other services.
