Martin Newell has written a stunning and heartfelt new epic poem A Return to Flanders in which the poet explores his feelings about the war that involved both his grandfathers:

    My grandads: ordinary chaps

The yeomanry this country taps
If ever there’s a song and dance

Would take up arms and then advance

The poem is published by Jardine Press in a small book illustrated by Andrew Dodds with a cover by his son James. Copies now available the Wivenhoe Bookshop.
