 July 2002
On Sunday, 14th July, Wivenhoe Town Mayor, Cllr David Craze, officially opened Wivenhoe Youth Football Club's new changing rooms at Broad Lane Sports Ground and congratulated Brian Laurence and Bob Taylor especially for all their hard work in building the three rooms.

Chairman of the Club, Brian Rogers, thanked Colchester Youth Forum for their grant of £2,000 towards the overall cost of £5,000, and said that he thought Wivenhoe Youth FC had one of the best facilities in the area.

The three new changing rooms took six months to build and decorate.

Wivenhoe Youth run boys teams from Under 9 years to Under 16s and provide coaching for around 140 boys who are expected to join for this coming season.  Boys come from Colchester and the surrounding area.
