New Changing Rooms for Tempest FC Officially Opened - May 2002

Deputy Mayor, Cllr Gilli Primrose, standing in for Town Mayor, Cllr David Craze, officially opened Tempest FC's new changing rooms at Broad Lane Sports Ground on Saturday, 25th May 2002.

Work began in September 2002 to construct four rooms inside in two of the bays of the uncompleted Main Stand.

With the help of volunteers the project was completed in April 2002 at a cost of £4,300 despite many of the materials used in the Project being donated.

The Project has been led by Paul and Tracy Wareing who have been well supported by John Cook (Club Secretary) and many others.

Tempest FC are now firmly based at Broad Lane Sports Ground and making an important contribution to sporting activity there, along with Wivenhoe Youth Football Club, by providing coaching and match experience for youngsters up to the age of 16.

Between the two Clubs, they have over 300 youngsters playing Youth Football.
