This Spring and Summer sees the reprisal of this annual competition -
started in 2008 and run by the organisers of Wivenhoe Funny Farm. There will be two heats and a grand final - in which the best new acts around with a link to Essex compete for this year's title and trophy. Each round will be hosted by able MC Tony Cowards and feature a top professional headliner. The audience will get to choose the best acts from the heats to go through to the final, which will be judged by a panel of local dignitaries. Heat 1: Thursday 12th March: Headliner: Mary Bourke plus 10 great new acts Heat 2: Thursday 14th May Headliner: Liam Mullone plus 10 great new acts Grand Final: Thursday 11th June Headliner: Steve Day plus the best acts from the heats.
