The subjects of Maggie's paintings vary widely and are sometimes quite experimental in both subject matter and method. She draws her inspiration from still life and landscape as well as ideas generated from Third World poverty, displacement and hardship. This combination of observation and expressionism has produced some of her best works. Maggie works in various media but her preferences lie with acrylic, watercolour, collage and pencil. She is especially proud of an installation/industrial sculpture she has created from scrap metal she recovered from the now defunct shipyard in Wivenhoe. Some examples of Maggie's work:
