Anne
Schwegmann-Fielding
Anne has been creating artworks for public and private spaces for
14 years. These works can be seen across the East of England in
hospitals, schools, offices, homes and gardens both private and
public.
Commissions include the International Kunstsymposiumin
Germany,
Barratt Homes, HSBC London, Broomfield and Colchester Hospitals,
2 Fantasy Rooms for the BBC and the London Garden Show.
She recently undertook two major residencies.
The first at The Gardens of Easton Lodge in Great Dunmow
where she curated the gardens first sculpture trail. She also worked
with local schools to create mosaic garden furniture. She then
created a sculpture for the Gardens
of its previous owner. The Countess of Warwick,
made entirely from objects unearthed from the gardens during
restoration.

- created for International symposium in
Thuringen, Germany 2006.
Medium: materials donated by local people
(Crockery, jewellery, old coins, mirror) |
Her residency at Writtle College was a research and development
residency funded by the Leverhulme Trust. A variety of artworks were
produced, including a research and experimental piece in a
wildflower meadow, a roundabout, light well and a series of glass
covered objects shown during her exhibition at the college in June
2006.
Anne exhibits her work nationally and internationally and has
work in private and public collections. She has tutored, mentored,
run workshops and given talks for various colleges, schools and
organisations across East Anglia.
She has been described as a Mosaic Artist, Sculptor, Landscape
artist, Recycling artist, Educator and Folk artist.
She is difficult to pigeon hole – which she likes,
preferring to just work with the materials that are at hand.
This is best described in her comment:
“Much of my work is
created in response to our disposable society.
If an object is slightly damaged, it is discarded rather than
repaired and then quickly replaced. Materials
such as broken china, old teapots, shattered glass, pre “euro”
coins and buttons are all incorporated within my work.
By adorning discarded,
functional objects I transform the readymade pushing “junk” into
a fine art context. The
metamorphosis of the ordinary into the extraordinary continue to
fascinate me.”

is available for commissions for homes, gardens, corporate clients
