Stephanie Harland was presented with The Royal Photographic Society's Gold Medal in Bath on 5th July, 2003, during a private view at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery in Stoke-on-Trent.

| 22 January, 2003 marked the 30th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court case Roe versus Wade, a ruling that struck down state laws restricting abortion in the United States. Demonstrators gather annually to commemorate the anniversary, pro-choice demonstrators marching against pro-life supporters. From January through May 2003, I was living close to the Supreme Court and was able to witness the many demonstrations that took place on the marble steps. With an imposing structure and constant police supervision, the venue makes a striking backdrop for these dramatic events. Stephanie Harland |
