10 August 2008 - In support of Ifor Bielecka

Annie Bielecka said: "It is quite a coup to have the Mayor of Wivenhoe Cllr Frances Richards and Mrs Bonnie Hill, a Deputy Lieutenant of Essex supporting 'Team Bielecki'.

This image will be added to the photographic images pages that Ifor's wife Alison Bielecka is preparing as a boost to cheer up Ifor, son of Mark Bielecki and Annie Bielecka.  There will also be an enthusiastic team of Mersea sailors wearing 'Team Bielecki' outfits at the Mersea Regatta Week on 17th August.

Ifor was diagnosed with cancer a week before his wedding last autumn, and has bravely faced up to almost a year of cancer treatment at both Monklands Hospital in Airdrie and Beastons Cancer Unit in Glasgow.

Annie said: "We are truly grateful to all our many friends in Wivenhoe who have supported us throughout this time. Ifor still has a few more months of hospitalisation ahead of him but he is courageously holding his own. Alison recently raised £1,500 for Cancer Research by running 5 km and we thank all those in Wivenhoe who generously contributed."
